Mass Online Poker Protest
On Tuesday morning, a Harvard law professor and a group of rabid poker players known as the Poker Players Alliance will stage a rally in Boston to protest being branded as criminals. Under new legislation, a Massachusetts House bill would enact penalties of $25,000 and 2 years in jail for those caught gambling online, even in the privacy of their own home.

And why, do you ask, would this be important now? Oh, well, Massachusetts is looking into legalizing gambling, which would make the state a boatload of money, but if legal gambling in the state allowed for people to gamble online, the state would lose some of that money. So, as always, legal decisions posing as moral judgment are tied back to finance. What a surprise.

In other news, we're not sure what these people are planning on accomplishing in Boston at 8AM the morning after St. Patrick's Day, but good luck.
