If you are a Partygaming shareholder right now, you can't be liking what you are seeing. As if there wasn't enough bad news this week for Partygaming shareholders (revenues slowing, CEO announces that he is leaving, major shareholder dumps a number of shares, analysts question whether the company can meet profit expectations). Now they have to deal with the loss of Party Poker's WSOP sponsorship, which involved having their logo on every single poker table at the event, amongst other things.

The World Poker Tour launched its sixth season this week at Mirage in Las Vegas. Over 300 players coughed up the $10,000 to participate. Phil Ivey entered the final table of six as the chipleader. This was the seventh WPT final table appearance of his career, his first since the WPT Championship of season three. Unfortunately for Ivey, he went out in 5th place ($129,000) after having his flush cracked by an opponent's full house draw. |
